Add a couple sets of Whinny Warmers® and Summer Whinnys™ to your tack room. Keep them near your saddle rack so that when your horse comes in from work, you can put them on and reward your horse with warm and comfortable legs for the rest of the night or legs free from the harassment of flies in the summer. Have a set on and a set clean and ready. Horse apparel isn’t complete without Whinny Warmers® and Summer Whinnys™.
Important: WE DO NOT HAVE SOCKS THAT WILL FIT A HORSE WITH HOOVES LARGER THAN A SIZE 2 HOOF WITH A SHOE. THAT'S IT. IF YOU HAVE A DRAFT OR DRAFT CROSS, OUR SOCKS WILL NOT FIT YOUR HORSE. IF YOU BUY THEM ANYWAY, WE WON'T ACCEPT RETURNS. Note: We are trying to develop this size sock, but they are not acceptable yet. An entirely different knitting process is required and that is the reason for the absence of this size. We apologize but just can't help your horse yet.
Whinny Warmers® HOCK/KNEE extensions are meant to be worn in combination with the front or rear leg socks and are not sold separately on line. Call us (850-907-5724) if you already own Whinny Warmers® to order them separately.

*NOTE: If your horse is a big boned with large hooves, Big Quarter Horse, Standardbred, Tennessee Walker, or a Thoroughbred with smaller than usual hooves, order the LRG Quarter/SM Thoroughbred size.
**NOTE: If you are ordering for a standard donkey, let us know in the comments section of the order form. We now have sport pony with special finishing for standard donkeys.
The short version of the Summer Whinnys™ was created for a USET veterinarian who often treats horses suffering from Equine Pastern Dermatitis such as Summer Sores, (Habronemiasis) and performance boot abrasions. As most conditions were located on the top of the hoof, the pastern and the fetlock (ankle). This short sock is ideal for protecting these conditions from the ravages of biting insects and maintaining a clean environment useful for reducing dirt, debris and bacteria near any pre-existing wounds. We've also gotten great feedback with owners who are using this sock as a means of to protect equine “bed sores”.
One customer tells us: “They are fantastic for bedsores! I know they make commercial neoprene fetlock protectors for bedsores but they are hot in the summer and wear the hair off the pastern. The ones that are tall have velcro above and below the joint. If put on too tight or incorrectly they can put pressure on the tendons or they twist around if they aren't tight enough.
The short sox are just perfect....easy to get on, easy to get off, just the right length to protect but not be cumbersome! They wash well and don't lose their shape. They are comfortable for the horse and you don't have to worry about stressing a tendon. And they have the specially treated yarns that give them the antimicrobial properties you designed into them. You should try marketing the short sox for bedsores. From reading the forums online, there are a whole lot of folks out there who need something better than neoprene on their horses' legs!” C.R. Whinny Warmers® and Summer Whinnys™ Sizes Available:
Warmblood/Thoroughbred fits over a hoof up to 7" wide 7" long if you are ordering the Summer Whinnys. 5.50" width X 6" length is about where this size begins.
The Whinny Warmers® only go up to 6" wide x 6" long hoof. If your thoroughbred has the same size hoof as a quarter horse then order Quarter/Standard.
Quarter Horse or Standard Horse size fits over a hoof at the largest 5.5" to 5.75" length hoof width.
Sport Pony for Summer Whinnys™: fit a small quarter, small Arab, pony or donkey. Call if you are not sure if these will fit. We make a special fit sock for donkeys. Please indicate in the "Comments" section of the order form that you are ordering for a donkey.
Whinny Warmers® for Ponies are for ponies, not small horses. 9-12 hands and typical pony sized hooves.
Quarter Horse size will fit most standard size horses, Arabs included. It is the size of the hoof that dictates the size you need to order. If you have a standard size horse with huge feet oversized hooves, you might consider buying the Warmblood size. If your horse with huge feet is wearing shoes, consider buying Warmblood size. And in reverse; we've seen some Thoroughbreds with smaller feet that would do well wearing the Quarter/or standard size socks. Call us or drop us an email and we will help you fit them if you are in doubt about what size to order.
Put a plastic bag over the hoof. Pull the sock on over the plastic bag. Remove the bag. Put the hoof down and adjust the socks. The socks will glide on over the foot rather than get snagged on the hoof. Duct tape works great when your horse won't accept a bag on its hoof.

International Shipping Policy:
We have dealers in Europe, United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada. Email us at email@example.com and we will either put you in touch with a dealer that can help you or we will help you ourselves if that 1st option is not available. DO NOT place an international order on our site. Our cart is not designed to calculate international shipping. Prices vary wildly for international shipping. If you cannot get the socks you want from one of our international dealers, then send us an email. Tell us what you want to order. We will calculate the shipping and send you a total and an invoice to make an online payment. It is usually more economical to buy directly from our international dealers than from us because they have shipped the socks in larger quantities and saved money by doing so. Thank you.
Our socks work for most horses. Check out our FAQ page for more information. Give them a fair chance to prove it. Some horses take a few days to a week to forget they are there. As with any leg wear, the socks should be at least checked for adjustments in the morning and evenings. We suggest you view the video on our homepage on how to put them on and take them off. This will help make your first experience with them a breeze. Please call us if you have any questions about them. 850-907-5724.
Important: Our socks do not fit the large draft or draft cross horses. Call us first if you are in doubt about fit to make sure the socks will fit your horse. We will not refund purchases made for draft or draft cross horses.
Don’t put on all four socks until you know they will work out for your horse. We will only refund used socks at 30% of your purchase price. The new-unused returned socks will be refunded at 100% of your purchase price. You must return the socks for replacement, or refund within 30 days of your purchase and your return must include a copy of the packing slip. Initial cost of shipping is not eligible for refund nor return shipping. If you wish to ask for a refund, please call us first for a return processing number. We will do the math so that return is calculated per sock. No returns accepted on single purchase socks.
